The Native Prairies Association of Texas (NPAT) and its Houston Chapter (HNPAT) welcomes visitors to Deer Park Prairie!
How to Visit
At this time visitation is by appointment only or during our scheduled tours or workdays. We will be happy to accompany any group or anyone who wishes to visit. Please contact us to schedule a visit.
The address for the house on the prairie is 1222 E. Purdue Lane, Deer Park, 77536. Please do not park along the curb directly in front of our neighbors’ houses. For a day trip in the area, our visitors might wish to check out some of the other nature/tourist sites near Deer Park Prairie. Scroll down to the bottom for the list.

Prepare for Your Visit
Although Deer Park Prairie is in a residential area, on the prairie are possible uneven terrain, biting insects, plants with thorns, etc. Therefore, wear & bring to the prairie: outdoor clothing (closed-toe shoes and long pants), a long-sleeve shirt (recommended), hat, water, insect repellent.
All visitors should bring a printed and signed release waiver: field trip waiver or volunteer waiver.
Workdays
Scheduled workdays for Deer Park Prairie are second Wednesdays and fourth Saturdays of the Month, 9 a.m. to noon. If you plan to come, please RSVP to [email protected] or call Glenn at 1-936-827-7978. If it is a last minute decision, please contact Glenn, in case there are last minute changes. Please do not park on the curb directly in front of our neighbors’ houses.
Visitors are welcome to come and walk on the prairie during regular workdays after they register with the appropriate Deer Park Prairie volunteer and sign a liability release form.
