“Over 99% of Texas’ tallgrass prairies have disappeared. But thanks to the efforts of one family, a piece of the prairie is being preserved forever. Karl and Kelli Ebel, along with their two sons, are restoring native grasslands that had been severely overgrazed and overgrown with brush. The Ebel Grasslands Ranch now serves as inspiration to others who want to restore Texas tallgrass prairies, which help reduce flooding, benefit the soil and serve as food and shelter for wildlife.”
