Memorial Service for Shirley Gangwere
Friday, January 5 at 10:00am

Arlington Heights UMC, 4200 Camp Bowie

We recently heard the sad news that fellow member Shirley Gangwere passed away on December 19th. Shirley was an avid prairie enthusiast who not only sought to learn more, but also championed the prairie movement at the Tarrant County College – Northwest campus. Before she retired as a professor at that campus, she organized a team of professors to move forward on prairie preservation & appreciation that is currently growing by leaps & bounds. Shirley was the connection, the bridge uniting the TCC campuses & the Fort Worth chapter of NPAT. Shirley was also active in the North Central chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texas where she regularly attended membership meetings, helped install a monarch waystation at the Fort Worth Forest Park pool, & helped with native plant sales. Shirley was active up until the time of her illness. If you would like to celebrate Shirley’s legacy, please attend the memorial service.
