The Fort Worth chapter of Native Prairies Association of Texas formed as a result of the synergy & excitement generated at the State of the Prairie conference held in Fort Worth in May of 2014. The North Central Texas area has its share of prairie folks but they weren’t tightly connected and aimed towards a common goal. Now, under the umbrella of the state Native Prairies Association of Texas mission; the Fort Worth chapter is weaving together local prairie professionals, educators, conservationists, landowners, students, and members of the public in an effort to conserve, restore, protect and educate our community about the importance of the historic prairies of North Central Texas.

The Native Prairies Association of Texas (NPAT) is a non-profit membership organization and land trust dedicated to the conservation, restoration, and appreciation of native prairies, savannas, and other grasslands. NPAT protects over 4,031 acres of native Texas Prairie, including over 1,340 acres of endangered/threatened tallgrass prairie. NPAT is a 501(c)(3) organization, and your membership and contributions are fully tax-deductible to the amount allowed by law.

(responsible for developing educational material, promoting organization at events when possible, generating content, updating website, social media posts, e-mail communications, promotion, media) *We are seeking additional volunteers to help us develop educational material, promote our organization at events, & plan special membership events.

Hospitality: Lisa Stokdyk
(responsible for sign-in table at monthly meet-ups & special workshops, organizing the food & activities at meet-ups)

Stella Rowan Prairie Liaison (responsible for advising Tarrant County land management staff on prairie management techniques for the Stella Rowan Prairie. Responsible for wo-coordinating special events at the site.)
