Tandy Hills & Broadcast Hill Field Trip

Join FWNPAT and Friends of Tandy Hills co-founder and prairie steward Don Young April 16 for a guided field trip on Fort Worth’s most successful urban prairie. Michelle Villafranca, with the City of Fort Worth will co-lead to discuss projects at Tandy Hills & introduce you to Broadcast Hill Open Space.
Tandy Hills Natural Area is a 220-acre indigenous remnant prairie. The land was obtained by the City of Fort Worth in 1960 and designated a natural area in 1987. Noted for its unusually complete collection of prairie flora, the prairie contains more than 1200 native species. Broadcast Hill Open Space is the first property acquired by the City of Fort Worth for its Open Space program. This 50 acres is contiguous with Tandy Hills.
*This tour is offered by donations. Suggested donation amount is $10; but please donate any amount you believe this special tour is worth. Donations will be divided & distributed to Friends of Tandy Hills Natural Area (park support group) & Native Prairies Association of Texas (conservation & land trust organization). Donations are non-refundable.
