Soil Carbon in Natural and Restored Lands
November 11 @ 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Dr. Elizabeth Bach will present “Soil Carbon in Natural and Restored Lands,” November 11, 2021, 6:00 PM.
Dr. Elizabeth Bach is a Research Scientist with The Nature Conservancy in Illinois based at Nachusa Grasslands (Franklin Grove, IL) where she works with scientists, land managers, and volunteer stewards to investigate questions about tallgrass prairie restoration ecology. Her own research expertise focuses on soil ecology, exploring how belowground biology supports tallgrass prairie ecosystems through plant-soil interactions and nutrient and carbon cycling. Elizabeth holds a BA in Biology from Cornell College, MSc in Plant Biology from Southern Illinois University – Carbondale, and PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Iowa State University. Prior to her role with The Nature Conservancy, Elizabeth served as Executive Director of the Global Soil Biodiversity Initiative based at Colorado State University.
