National Prairie Day
June 1, 2019
Did you know that the first Saturday in June is National Prairie Day? Actually, at NPAT every day is prairie day! And June is a really good time to visit a Texas prairie. This special day was founded by the Missouri Prairie Foundation in 2016 as a way to celebrate and create awareness of the native prairies of this nation. Carol Davit, Executive Director of the Missouri Prairie Foundation wrote a fitting blog for prairie day. Read on.
“National Prairie Day provides a day of focus across the United States to inspire learning, appreciation, and exploration of our national prairie legacy, and success of national, regional, statewide, and local prairie conservation efforts from coast to coast.
On June 1, 2019 raise your glass of Chardonnay—or whatever beverage is handy—and pay a tribute to the native grasslands of your region.” —Carol Davit
