Mary Talbot Prairie Field Day
May 25, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Free
Explore one of NPAT’s premiere Northeast Texas prairies!
Mary Talbot Prairie is a remnant of unplowed native grassland and one of Texas’ easternmost prairies. It is a rare Silveus’ dropseed prairie that NPAT acquired in 2012. Silveus’ Dropseed Prairies are named for the grass that dominates there—Silveus’ or silver dropseed. This prairie is an incredibly diverse plant community, and in spring with its beautiful wildflowers is well worth a visit to Northeast Texas.
Come by the prairie any time between 9 a.m. and noon. The gate will be open. Contact Kirsti Harms for directions and more details. Register at Eventbrite.
