Education is one of the most important allies to the almost-extinct Texas prairie ecosystem. This year Della led 7 teacher workshops that could reach over 22,000 students.
Even during the hot summer months, volunteers at Kirchoff Farm's Third Saturday Work Days find the prairie loaded with photo opportunities, as well as opportunities to study animal and plant life.
This easement provides public access to the restored farm and its natural communities. The Kirchoff Family’s “Farm to Native Prairie” philosophy is a working example of how native prairies will become invaluable as more landowners become interested in restoring their own lands to native prairies.
