Caddo National Grasslands Hike
Fort Worth chapter of NPAT hosted a prairie walk on the Caddo National Grassland in NE Texas near Ladonia yesterday. We just missed yellow wild indigo blooming but saw it’s large seed heads. A tiny butterfly uses ONLY this plant to live. They also stay in one place so if the plant disappears, so does the butterfly. They spend only a few weeks on the plant and the move to the soil to stay until next year! Won’t you join us in recognizing the importance of having these prairies with a donation? Any amount helps. Come join us on one of our hikes soon! Bring the family!! We need to teach our children to love their ecosystem so they will steward it in the future!
