Between Bayou and Prairie is a story about a girl that played in
the mud growing into a woman who plays in mud. Currently tasked
with restoring a slice of prairie at the Houston Botanic Garden,
Ware’s talk is a testimonial of sorts that weaves in plant
science, wetland/prairie ecology, and a bit of life’s spice that
is sure to resonate with Texas nature lovers.
As an eighth generation Texan whose first coast was the Third
Coast, Lyndsey Anne Ware has a deep rooted passion to help the
unique swath of land her people have called home. She is a
horticulturist and journalist driven to combine skill sets in an
effort to rekindle appreciation for the unique ecosystems that
stretch out along the Gulf Coast.
