NPAT’s Chapters’ monthly meet ups and events offer opportunities to learn and exchange ideas on our roles in TEXAS PRAIRIE RESTORATION and PRESERVATION!

Listen to talks presented by dedicated and highly-qualified individuals serving your area: county and municipal agents working in water conservation, native vegetation, habitat restoration, ecological practices; people whose knowledge of practices will benefit landowners, nature conservationists, wildlife experts, and others dedicated to sharing knowledge - for the future of our great prairies!

June 16, 2018: 7:30am-9:45pm: ‘3rd Annual ‘Texas Prairies and More Tour’, 7:30am meet at Bath House Cultural Center, Dallas. Tour NE Texas area Prairies and an historic Forest, Dinner as guests of B. F. Hicks in Mt. Vernon, TX, and return to Bath House in Dallas approximately 9:45pm. The bus will leave Dallas, tour prairies near Terrell, Sulphur Bluff, Paris, Clarksville, and Mount Vernon. Lunch is self-pay: CASH ONLY Please. Registration form includes lunch options. All tour participants are DINNER GUESTS of Franklin County Historical Association of B.F. CenTex (Central Texas) Chapter

Monthly Meetings: 1st Wednesday, 6:30-8:30pm at Georgetown Public Library, 2nd Fl Classroom

SATURDAY, MAY 19, 7:30am-noon: BIRD SURVEY & WORK DAY Indiangrass Prairie Preserve. Come early for the bird survey or join us at 9am for the work day. Robert Reeves will lead the bird walk; Rene Barrera will oversee the restoration activities. SUNDAY, MAY 20, 9am-noon: PRAIRIE PLANT WALK Commons Ford Prairie, Commons Ford Ranch Metropolitan Park. Join Diane Sherrill for a plant walk at this restored prairie. Registration is limited; click HERE to sign up.

Wednesday, May 23, 2018 6:30pm: HNPAT Monthly Program.  The long-awaited rescheduled presentation by Jim Blackburn, the “Texas Coastal Exchange”, a system developed at the Severe Storm Prevention, Education and Evacuation from Disaster (“SSPEED”) Center at Rice University.
HNPAT has a lot of fun things planned for this year!

San Antonio Chapter

Monthly Meetings are held on the 1st Tuesday, from 7-8:30pm at the City of San Antonio’s Lions Field Adult and Senior Center.
“3rd Saturday Prairie Restoration Workdays” (Chapter-sponsored) begin at 9am, you leave when you want; drinks & lunch provided. Location: the Kirchoff Family Farm.
MAY 1, 2018, Monthly Meeting, 7-8:30pm Welcome Ms. Jamie Killian, TPWD Biologist for Wilson & Karnes Counties. She will present TPWD’s “Landowner Assistance Programs”.
MAY 19, 2018, 3rd Saturday Prairie Restoration Workday, 9am Kirchoff Family Farm.
JUNE 5, 2018, Monthly Meeting, 7-8:30pm Welcome Ms. Katie Boyer, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Austin Ecological Services Field Office. She will address the chapter on “The Monarch Conservation Movement”.
