Summer 2016 North American Prairie Conference!

From Cemetery Prairies to National Tallgrass Prairies

July 17-20, 2016
Illinois State University, Normal Illinois

Prairie professionals from around the nation will converge for sessions covering landscape scale restoration, the status of grassland birds, and much more!

A great line up of speakers is already confirmed, and there will also be more than 70 oral papers on many aspects of prairie ecology, restoration, management and innovative ideas for working lands.

This conference will honor Pete Schramm, the individual responsible for organizing the very first North American Prairie Conference hosted at Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois in 1968.

FIELD TRIPS to large scale high diversity restorations include:
• Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie (19,000-acres & Bison)
• Nachusa Grassland (3,000-acres & Bison)
• Efroymson Restoration at Kankakee Sands (7,000-acres)
• ...and a diversity of other locations throughout the region

Registration will be available February 1 (Early registration deadline May 1)
