NPAT and The Nature Conservancy, as well as many of our friends, had a great day on the prairie this past weekend at the Clymer Meadow Preserve near Celeste, TX, east of the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Jim Eidson and Larry Crane, both with the Nature Conservancy, provided excellent information about the plants, animals found at Clymer Meadow Preserve as well as methods of land management used at the preserve to help keep the prairie ecosystem intact and prevent invasive plant communities from taking over. We were able to tour several different portions of the prairies found at the preserve as well as Clymer Meadow Preserve’s prairie seed harvesting operation. Thanks again to all those who attended the field trip held at Clymer Meadow Preserve this past weekend. We are looking forward to returning to Clymer Meadow Preserve in the fall for a look at the late season blooms and how the prairie prepares itself for the cold winter months.
Check out some photos taken this past weekend!
