Burleson Prairie Description

Burleson Prairie, a tallgrass prairie remnant and restoration in the Blackland Prairie. Bob and Mickey Burlesons' prairie includes over a hundred acres of restored and remnant Blackland Prairie, part of Texas' endangered tallgrass prairies. The Burlesons' have been restoring this tallgrass prairie for decades and have written a restoration guide available on NPAT's web site. Local ecotype seed was locally collected by the Burlesons from native prairie hay meadows in the area, many of which no longer exist. Photos by Lisa Spangler.
