NPAT Executive Director Job Posting

Hiring Announcement for Executive Director Position

I am pleased to announce that the Native Prairies Association of Texas (NPAT), a non-profit 501(c)(3) land trust dedicated to the conservation, restoration, and appreciation of native prairies, savannas, and other grasslands in Texas,  is hiring an Executive Director.

The State Land and Water Conservation Plan and State Wildlife Action Plan recently identified the Blackland Prairies and the Gulf Prairies and Marshes, and prairie wildlife such as grassland birds, as the highest priority conservation regions in Texas.

NPAT protects over 1,200 acres of native Texas prairie including critically imperiled tallgrass prairie.  Founded in 1986, NPAT is managed by a Board of Directors and is currently focused on protecting native prairie via conservation easement and acquisition, outreach to landowners, and grant-supported surveys of 90+ counties to locate tallgrass prairie remnants.

Three years of funding for the position has been obtained, and securing further funding is a top fundraising priority.

Applications will be accepted until the position is filled (please submit by April 15th, 2008).  Visit http://texasprairie.org/ for a full job description and more information about NPAT.

Sincerely,

Kunda Lee Wicce
President
